The Adventure Begins.....

Hey Guys,

Over this past year I designed some products I have never made in my entire life!

It has been so much fun but also incredibly nerve wrecking to do. From illustrating the images to figuring out how to design these things, to finding manufacturers that I would be happy with (and oh boy did that go wrong, more about that later..)

The Pin...

I started this range at the beginning of the year with the ambitious plan to make an enamel pin. I wanted to make an adventure map, which was a lot of fun, and after looking around I found a manufacturer I thought would be a good fit.. Well... in a way they were, I mean the pins came out pretty awesome if I say so myself... but the company that produced them had the brilliant idea to stamp THEIR logo on the back of MY pins, and I only found out after they arrived!

Of course I was fuming and asking for an explanation... I basically got an "Oops, sorry" and a discount code for a next order.....yeah....I think not!

The other three products in this line were done absolutely satisfactory, I have no complaints there. Each was a learning curve on it's own, but communication was good, and the products came out without any problems.

Pricing

If you, by chance, have visited my table at Fantasy Fest last October (first of all THANK YOU), you might see a slight change in prices on the website vs the market.

I have to admit I hadn't quite figured it out back then, so it was a bit trial and error.

Of course I have to take into account the cost I've made getting the final products done. I also want to make a little bit of profit, that's how it works, I need to pay myself for the time I spent working on all this.

For the pins in particular I feel like I just can't justify the price I think they're worth because of that stupid logo they put on the back ... sigh

And now they're live on the website and for international costumers on my Etsy marketplace!

I really hope you enjoy them as much as I had fun making them!

Love,

Sylvia
